With just one week to go until we can get stuck into Halo Infinite’s Campaign, Xbox have just released the campaign trailer in all its glory.
From the opening line “If you knew how you were going die”, I was hooked and my eyes glued to the screen soaking in the 2min 30 visual feast. We get more of a look at the main story and are teased with some of the epic set pieces, it has me nerding out and all kinds of giddy counting down until December 9.
The legend continues.

“When all hope is lost and humanity’s fate hangs in the balance, the Master Chief is ready to confront the most ruthless foe he’s ever faced. Step inside the armour of humanity’s greatest hero to experience an epic adventure and explore the massive scale of the Halo ring.”
From its initial announcement back at E3 in 2018, Halo Infinite has had a rocky road leading up to its release from launch delays through to the now infamous ‘Craig the Halo Infinite Brute’ (which has spawned his own meme). In a recent interview with GQ, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer even said “I don’t like how we did it”, referring to Halo Infinite’s quick delay so soon after being announced as an Xbox Series X|S launch title.
The release roll-out has also been very much piecemeal. Halo Multiplayer was released a few weeks ago, the story campaign is next week, and in the August development update from 343 Industries, it was revealed that co-op won’t be available at launch.
Delays are never wanted by developers or players, but sometimes they’re necessary to make the game be as good as it can. Halo is a beloved and quality franchise and so it’s safe to assume that despite a choppy launch, fans will no doubt forgive Infinite and embrace it like a best mate we haven’t seen in a long time.
Halo Infinite’s campaign launches December 8, 2021 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and via Cloud.
