Aussie-made Capes is a superhero tactics game releasing next month

Queensland developer Spitfire Interactive and publisher Daedalic Entertainment have announced the release date for their superhero XCOM game, Capes! First announced back in August 2022, Capes is promising great tactical gameplay mixed with an unlikely and entertaining cast of heroes attempting to save King City from shadowy forces. Capes is coming to us from developers who had previously worked at the now-closed Defiant Development, best known for the Hand of Fate series. This makes the game a particularly exciting release as we already know how much incredible talent is found within this development team. Even amongst the 100+ Aussie games releasing this year and beyond, Capes stands out as one of the most anticipated.

Capes is said to feature a set of heroes that each come with their own powers and ultimate abilities. Assembling your squad tactically will be key as individual powers combine to make powerful combo attacks. The game will feature various missions and side-quests that can be completed to earn experience and level up, unlocking new upgrades for your crew.

Capes is set to release May 29 for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch.
