A few months have passed since Pokémon Sleep celebrated its one-year anniversary and its recent update will change the way trainers can play the game. As of September 24, 2024, trainers can now use their smartwatch to track their sleep and conduct their Pokémon Sleep research. This update would provide another alternative for trainers to play the game without having to use the Pokémon GO Plus+.
According to the Pokémon Sleep‘s news page, Apple Watch, Galaxy Watch, Google Pixel Watch, and Fitbit devices can be used in the game. Not every iteration from these brands will work, so players will have to go on the game’s website to see which ones are compatible. Unfortunately, other popular smartwatch brands like Garmin are not included in this list. The way Pokémon Sleep will be able to track your data using third-party apps is by linking it with Apple Health or Health Connect, depending on your device. A simple tutorial can be found on the website, showing basic steps to synchronize data.
Before this update, the Pokémon GO Plus+ was the only accessory that could be used in the game, and it was released around the same time the game came out. Not only can players use it in Pokémon GO, but it also allows trainers to conduct Sleep research without having to leave their phones on overnight. In addition, trainers with this device are given a special Pikachu with a nightcap, allowing them to have a total of six helper Pokémon instead of the usual five.
Pokémon Sleep is a mobile game that rewards trainers’ good sleep progress with Pokémon research data. In the game, you help Professor Neroli study and capture Pokémon sleeping habits on various islands. Helping you is a Snorlax that’s found in every location, and a team of helper Pokémon of your choosing that can aid in your research. The game has hosted numerous research events, including some that give players the opportunity to capture legendary Pokémon. Pokémon Sleep is one of the few games that Nintendo has released that helps trainers with daily lifestyle habits. Other games include Pokémon GO, which encourages trainers to go outside, and Pokémon Smile, which teaches kids how to brush their teeth.
Pokémon Sleep is available to download on the Apple Store and Google Play Store.
