Nicolas Cage is joining the Dead by Daylight roster

Nicolas Cage, star of Ghost Rider, National Treasure and Renfield, among many others, is joining the roster of of survivors in Dead by Daylight. Not as an original character, or a reprisal of one of his famous roles, just Nic Cage as himself. The developers have described the role on Twitter as “the performance of a lifetime“.

“After countless awards and over one hundred movies shot across the globe, Nicolas Cage had seen it all and done it all – or so he thought,” reads the official description as per a statement to Eurogamer. “While on set filming the role of a lifetime, his performance summoned The Entity, a malevolent being of incomprehensible power. The actor soon found himself cast in otherworldly Fog, forced to Survive a host of terrifying Killers deadlier than even the most scathing film critic.”

Dead by Daylight is no stranger to crossovers and unexpected additions to its roster. The game has seen cameos from famous iconic horror properties, such as Stranger Things, Silent Hill and Resident Evil, to name just a few. The game even released a dating sim spin-off called Hooked on You: A Dead by Daylight Dating Sim which maintains a Very Positive review average on Steam. As such, adding a famous actor known for poking fun at his own eccentric public profile to Dead by Daylight’s cadre of hapless survivors is not terribly out of character for the popular asymmetric multiplayer game.
