It’s hard to buy for gamers, or so my mother has told me every year as Christmas rolls around. With 2017 drawing to a close the gamers in your life have been gifted with a year of breakout games. So many in fact that there is no way they’ve played them all.

So let Cameron, Nat, Rachel and Kieren do the leg work for you as we pick out some of the best gifts you can bless the gamer in your life with this holiday season.

Whether you’re buying for someone who’s a big kid at heart or an actual physical child, check out these light hearted titles.

Super Mario Odyssey

Divinity: Original Sin II

The closest we’ve ever gotten to table top Dungeons and Dragons in our computer. Divinity: Original Sin II expands on the successful original with a massive campaign, deep mechanics and a co-op multiplayer that will leave you shook.

Vintage animation never hit so hard! Cuphead was a title we waited years to see and when it finally arrived it brought addictively hard side scrolling of video game history back to the main stage. With stand out visuals and a toe tapping soundtrack this indie is a must have.

Test your reflexes in Sonic Mania, as Sonic, Tails and Knuckles zip through several colourful stages all with that glorious 16-bit sheen. It’s a real treat, going back to basics with the super speedy blue hedgehog and taking down Dr Robotnik once again!
